MERA Nurtures Next Generation of Software Engineers
MERA has always been actively involved in developing the expertise of Nizhny Novgorod’s IT community. Nizhny Novgorod is Russia’s 5th largest city and an important economic, scientific and educational center. The city ranks among the leading Russian cities in terms of the quantity of software R&D providers.
In spring 2018, MERA’s contribution to the local IT community broke new ground after General Manager at MERA Russia had signed a scientific-technical and educational cooperation agreement with the leading universities of Nizhny Novgorod – Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University (NNSTU) and Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod (UNN). A while later, MERA’s R&D department in Kazan, the “Third Capital” of Russia, signed a cooperation agreement with several institutes of the Kazan Federal University (KFU). Besides, for the last 10+ years, the company has been carrying out a unique educational program with the Nizhny Novgorod Research University High School of Economics. All the mentioned academic institutions are famous for top-quality education and have repeatedly been listed in both Russian and international rankings.
“We’ve been working with students through MERA’s educational programs long before signing the agreements. Having entered a new, official stage of collaboration, MERA will be able to directly influence the universities’ academic programs: tailor the curriculum in line with the most in-demand technologies, up-to-date software development practices and requirements of the present-day customers. Thus, we will be able to combine real-world software development experience with the leading universities’ best R&D practices in Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Machine Learning and other domains. Could you imagine the talents we will nurture in a few years?” comments Alex Bogachek, CEO at MERA.
MERA has set itself apart from other outsourcing companies as the provider who not merely sells services, but offers outstanding expertise and knowledge. The company’s customers come from different industries and parts of the world. However, what unites them is that they identify MERA as a company of professionals who keep pace with modern technologies and go beyond their call of duty to get things done. This motivates the company to carry on growing its own pool of professional engineers who would conform to the constantly-changing market requirements right after graduation. To do this MERA is ready to provide experts who will teach at specialty courses; hold seminars, conferences, hackathons, and internships; mentor students working on their academic paper, graduation thesis, research, etc.
