MERA Upgrades to ISO 9001:2015 Standard

In July, MERA has confirmed its Quality Management System’s compliance with the ISO 9001:2015 standard requirements, marking the company’s transition to the latest version of the ISO 9001 standard.

The international ISO 9001 standard is a foundation of MERA’s Quality Management System (QMS). In comparison with ISO 9001:2008, the new version of the standard puts a particular emphasis on risk management. Being ISO 9001 certified since the early 2000s, MERA has regularly improved its quality management to boost the level of the services provided and increase customer satisfaction. The assessment was performed by BSI Group Lead Auditors.

The audit lasted a full workweek and encompassed a large number of software development projects selected randomly by the certification body. The BSI representatives also examined the engagement of the administrative personnel: HR, IT, Education, Facilities, and Purchase departments. In the course of the assessment, the audit team checked MERA’s risk management procedures, continuous improvement programs, and customer requirements traceability at all stages of the software development lifecycle.

Among MERA’s strong points revealed by the audit, the following were mentioned in the report: maturity and efficiency of the QMS processes, especially those connected to R&D; competence and involvement of the staff; customer focus. The obtained ISO 9001:2015 certificate is valid until 2021.
